Recently, an old contact, Ed in Honolulu, showed up as he read one of my updates and showed me the trading bots he is running after having tested around 180 different ones now offering these two that he found out to be the best. He combines it with manual trading in very rare instances so we call it semi-automatic and it’s not grid or martingale trading.

With this second bot (improved in a few fields, like a higher profit factor), we have finally found the best possible duo that investors should split their funds 50/50.

As you can see, the bots wait for a move of at least 800 pips before closing an open trade that was opened earlier on the way up or down. Drawdowns can only occur once a trend change happens so abruptly that the line of open trades can no longer close in profit. As mentioned, small DDs will be closed at the end of each trading day, and rare bigger ones will be compensated by the system in parallel to the normal trading.

After almost daily discussions for weeks with Ed I could convince him to do this: he will trade only with his trending bot versions while fully awake and only when the price of gold is trending enough, thereby eliminating potential errors or mistakes. Even a portion of this time may be enough to generate sufficient profit, as we just saw on the chart. So don’t worry if the bot is taking a pause. As he says, “The Trend bot versions need to be watched, and trades closed before going to bed. The ranging bot version can be run afterwards during the London and NY Sessions with much reduced lot sizes.” He added: Will try to close all open trades every day, but it depends on how much of a Drawdown there is. If it’s a very small one, I’ll close all trades. (as he did on May 21st.)
